Incident at the high school due to dangerous TikTok challenges and why families should be vigilant
We have learned recently of something called the ‘pellet gun TikTok challenge,’ in which kids are called to shoot students with pellet guns on their way to or from school and then post videos of them doing so on TikTok. This is absolutely not OK, and this morning it caused harm to a student in our community.
Fortunately, this student is safe and recovering from minor injuries. I want to take this time to warn you that what could seemingly be playful, is actually a highly dangerous act. And at Hiawatha, we do not tolerate any form of activity that may cause any kind of harm. We urge you to speak to your children about the potential dangers of internet ‘challenges’ like these.
