HCHS TRANSPORTATION

Free school bus service is only available to 9th and 10th grade currently. Hiawatha Collegiate High School also partners with Metro Transit to offer the Go-To Student Pass card for all high school students to use on public buses. We are eager to offer this transportation program to our high school students as it is 100% free to participants, provides flexibility for before and after school activities, and promotes responsibility.

Students will practice independence by getting to school and back home using either the Go-To Student Pass or other means of transportation. Hiawatha Academies will not provide transportation other than the student pass. Please also note that if your child misplaces their bus card, they can purchase a replacement in the main office for $10.

What can you do to prepare your student for this transition?
We encourage you to practice using the public transportation system with your child multiple times before the start of the school year. This includes practicing the exact route to and from school to learn any transfers and determine what time students need to catch the bus to arrive at school on time! We want our students to feel comfortable and confident on the first day of school.

Use the Metro Transit website to plan your bus route: www.metrotransit.org

We understand this system may cause concern for families and students. Don’t worry - we are here to help! Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have about transportation.
