Adelante College Prep currently serves scholars in 5th grade. The middle school will add a grade level every year to serve grades 5-8.

About our Middle School Name

After hearing many of our families repeatedly say, "sigue adelante" which means to continue forward, Adelante College Prep seemed like the natural name for our middle school. The opening of our middle school will be the next step in our scholars' journey to college.

Responsibilities and Mindsets

• Believe that all scholars will be prepared for college who will serve the common good.
• Willing to work "wall street" like hours – doing whatever it takes to get the job done to ensure we are closing the achievement gap for our scholars. Typical school day will be 7 – 4:15 p.m.
• Functions well in a start-up entrepreneurial environment – must be flexible and committed to take on multiple responsibilities.
• Believes that standardized and interim assessments are key to diagnose and current student achievement and adjust instructional plan to key outcomes.
• Sets rigorous academic goals, believing students will achieve much higher than 1.5 grades levels of growth annually.
• Passionate about backward planning, using data trackers and creating yearlong and standards aligned unit plans.
• Conduct home visits on a regular basis to build relationships with families.
• Carry a school cell phone that is on until 9 p.m. each night to receive phone calls from scholars or family members who have homework questions or need help.
• Continue to build on a legacy of high expectations and student achievement of our elementary school.

Requirements

• B.A. degree
• At least two years teaching experience with measurable results in an underserved school.
• Possess/ or able to acquire Minnesota teachers license.
